About Us

Our journey began in the fall of 2019 when a dedicated group of like-minded individuals from three different churches in Beaufort County gathered to address the concerning issues of homelessness and addiction in our community. By early 2020, it was clear that a significant need existed and Rooms of Grace opened its doors at 1942 Trask Parkway in Seabrook on March 6th, 2020. The support we have received since day one is nothing short of miraculous. Over the last five years, more than 100 men have walked through our doors.  Today, we are building on that legacy of service to engage with men who have lost their way.  We do this by providing a safe dwelling place, in a Godly environment which supports them in pushing forward.  Our efforts support “re-entry” and outreach in order to reunite and serve the community,  building on the foundation laid before us.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a goal-oriented, structured living environment with initiatives designed to support the unique needs of each individual we serve, ensuring that each person receives the guidance and support necessary for long-term recovery,   personal growth and re-entry into all aspects of their lives (families, work, faith, community).

Recovery Mission

Rooms of Grace offers a structured, safe, substance-free, peer-supported sober living environment designed for individuals transitioning from addiction treatment to independent living. Our approach emphasizes safety, accountability, and recovery community engagement.

Safe & Structured Housing: Located in Beaufort County, this home offers a peer-managed, stable living environment that requires abstinence from drugs and alcohol, validated by random drug testing.

  • Accountability Measures: Residents must adhere to strict guidelines, including curfew (e.g., 9 PM weekdays, 10 PM weekends), mandatory attendance at house meetings (3 times weekly), and participation in recovery and community support meetings.

  • Recovery-Based Community: Residents are encouraged to build a strong recovery foundation through 12-step meetings, peer support, and, when applicable, continued engagement with Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

  • Life Skills & Reintegration: We provide support in finding employment, budgeting, life skills training, and assistance with transportation, helping residents transition to independent living.

  • Safety & Compliance: The house is guided by  South Carolina Alliance for Recovery Residences (SCARR) recommendations with the goal of providing a high-quality, ethical, and supportive environment.

Admission Criteria:

  • Demonstrated commitment to sobriety.

  • Willing to abide by house rules and contribute to a shared living environment.

  • [Optional] Completion of a certified detox or treatment program.

Foundation Mission

Beyond sobriety, Rooms of Grace seeks to help men build a stable personal foundation for long-term success. This includes strengthening character, developing spiritual and emotional maturity, setting meaningful goals, and cultivating practical life skills. We intentionally support men as they grow in responsibility, identity, and purpose—preparing them for confident and independent living.

We do this by:

  • Providing space for men to heal and develop spiritually and emotionally

  • Supporting men in setting and achieving meaningful goals

  • Offering support and guidance while helping individuals build a network of valuable resources

  • Helping men develop values and practical skills that are essential for personal transformation

  • Preparing men for a confident transition to the next stage of their lives

Community Outreach Mission

Recovery and stability must ultimately translate into healthy participation in the broader community. Rooms of Grace connects men to meaningful work, service opportunities, and community engagement that reinforce dignity, responsibility, and belonging. Through structured service initiatives and supervised employment opportunities, residents gain real-world experience while contributing tangible value to others. We accomplish this through:

  • Emergency Needs – Emergency situations such as storm damage, broken steps, or damaged ramps are promptly assessed by a contractor. If the need is deemed qualified, resources are allocated and the issue is addressed as soon as possible. Emergency circumstances are handled with urgency to ensure immediate support.

  • Non-Emergency Needs – For non-emergency situations where a sponsor is needed to provide materials, potential clients must apply through a partner sponsor. These cases are vetted and scheduled accordingly. Non-emergency projects are typically carried out as a community service and are scheduled for weekends in most cases.

  • Professional Handyman Services – Clients who have resources and require handyman services receive a quote from the contractor for contract work. Projects are completed by Rooms of Grace tradesmen under the supervision of a licensed contractor, ensuring professional quality. Professional handyman services are scheduled directly with the contractor.
